Coroner holds inquest into Russell James death at mill
Coroner Noel presided at Quinn's undertakers over the inquest into Russell James's fatal injuries from a beltentangled saw machine at the Whitness Steel plant. The jury ruled accidental death. James, 14, died at Silver Cross hospital after being rushed from the mill where he worked as a saw boy. Witnesses described screams, belt entanglement, and immediate machine stoppage.
