Dibell Campbell and Hoopert receive the majority of votes across three counties for positions on the circuit bench. The trio secured the leading support in the contentious election.
In the three county circuit, Judge Frank L. Hooper, an independent, won a larger share than rivals while Dorrance Dibell secured strong support in his home county. Voters split between Hooper and Campbell, with many casting single votes for their preferred local candidate, and overall turnout showing only a minority vote across the district.
August Batter escaped from the penitentiary at 1 15 P M and was pursued by officers and locals. He was recaptured at the Finch brothers farm at 3 PM after exchange of fire, having fled toward the north from Collins street.
