Norton Hurt at Mill Undergoes Amputation

Norton, superintendent at the billet walls of the tie line at the steel mill, was injured yesterday evening when he stepped on hot gear teeth. He was rushed to Silver Cross hospital where two of his toes were amputated. Doctors hope to save the remaining toes and foot, though further surgery may be needed. He is not in immediate danger and is expected to walk again in a few weeks.

Police Seek Parents of Drowned Man in Grand Rapids

Police in Grand Rapids investigate the drowning of Harry Warmer as they search for his parents here. A separate city sweep fails to locate fugitive Thomas Kelly from Morris. Marshall brothers Joseph and Robert receive thirty day jail terms for vagrancy and are sent to Wills Sanitarium. John and Ben Yober, accused panhandlers, are fined $1 and costs.

Trouble Brews Over Shade Tree Damage and Street Fight

Police report two altercations with arrests in a moving dispute on Sherman Street and a street fight on North Collins Street. Officer Brazil Seizes Gold Medal With Strong 25 Score

Pleasantly Entertained at White Home Trolley Party

About twenty five ladies enjoyed a trolley ride to East Washington street home of Mr and Mrs Harry White. Supper was served and a band of gypsies told guests futures foretelling marriages for five attendees. West Side Protest Over Licensed Peddlers Sparks Investigation

Chief Emery led the inquiry while Johnston, a Shaw brick yards worker on East Cass street, faced assault charges linked to work disputes. A $7.50 costs payment and a suspended $5 fine were noted. Rock Island Seeks Amended Petition in Condemnation
