No More Jury Trials Till September Term Declared

The circuit court discharged its jury this afternoon and ordered no jury trials until September. The next term opens on the third Monday in September with a new petit jury and grand jury report. The case John Oleste against Illinois Steel Co. saw a $5800 verdict in January 1903, later set aside on a motion for a new trial.

Several Strangers Arrested for Begging in City

Thomas McCullogh Walter Bradshaw and John McCarthy were taken in charge by police yesterday accused of begging. Frank Thompson and Charles Henshaw faced similar charges but were not with the trio. All are strangers in the city and each pleaded guilty to vagrancy, receiving casual fines. Andrew Pazevar was caught stealing coal on the Santa Fe right of way and fined $10 plus costs.

Former Joliet Young People Are Married

A quiet home wedding occurred Tuesday night June 2 at 8 in Knoxville Tennessee at Bert Stillwell's home. Miss Myrtie Austin wed J M DeJarld formerly of Joliet now an engineer for the Southern railroad. Youthful Desperadoes Five Boys Arrested in Saloon Robbery

Five boys aged 9 to 12 were arraigned on vagrancy charges in Pal county. John Lloyd leader at 11, Harry Burnetski 12, Chat Casey 12, Tommy Joyce 12, and Louis Mutski 9 faced accusations of robbing Thomas Quinn’s saloon on May 21.
