Burial of George Houck Captured in Joyful Work and Faith

The funeral for George Houck was held yesterday at his Oneida Street home with large Odd Fellows attendance. Rev. C G Reynolds spoke on a life of integrity, industry, and Christian faith, praising a man devoted to wife and children and guided by Jesus.

Suicide attempt fails at 217 N Chicago Street

Fritz Bernet a shotmaker for Thomas Wood at 217 N Chicago Street tried to kill himself last evening at 6 30. He was found in a rear room with a rope around his neck. the rope was cut and he was taken to St Joseph's Hospital where doctors expect recovery. He drank heavily amid domestic troubles and had been a model worker.

Health official urges milk cows inspected for tuberculosis

Joliet health commissioner proposes mandatory veterinary exams and certificates for all dairy cows.
