Annie Kelly, a teacher, knocks down Miss Agnes Connolly, principal of Forest Park Building, and threatens her with injury. The incident occurs amid tensions at the school and raises concerns over staff safety.
Agnes I Connolly principal at Forest Park School was assaulted and knocked down by Mrs Annie Kelley after dismissing classes. Miss Helen Murray and neighbors freed Connolly, while Kelley, intoxicated, threatened other teachers. A warrant was issued for assault and battery and Kelley may be held under peace bonds.
The executive board of the United Mine Workers of Illinois orders engineers and pumpmen to abandon posts if operators fail to sign the miners contract within twelve hours. Unions threaten withdrawal of all members from non signing mines, including engineers firemen pumpmen mule feeders and related staff. Page authority cites Peoria talks and states brokers must sign to avoid stoppage.
Mayor Cronin defended city action on B J & BE, Union Depot, and C J traction plans noting no city delays. The attorney general Stead issues an opinion for township highway commissioners, especially in townships with a city of 20,000 or more, responding to Joliet town clerk W. D Hall about the disposition of road and bridge tax collections. The ruling will be discussed at Aurora.

Weeks chairman of the Post Office and Post Roads Committee says the bill agreed by the Republican caucus will be reported to the house next Tuesday. Rules Committee will set a special order date and amendments with a final vote likely by Friday. Illinois representatives Snapp Madden and others think opposition is appeased and obstacles will be few. D'Arcy transacted business in Morris yesterday.
