Cloudburst in Joliet Causes Severe Flooding and Damage

Professor Muhlig identifies a cloudburst as the cause after nearly 4.5 inches of rain fell overnight, with 3 inches in two hours. The flood damaged bridges, tracks, yards, mills, and homes in Joliet and surrounding areas, flooding basements and streets, and washing away infrastructure along Hickory and Spring creeks.
