Young Woman Injured Alighting From Brooklyn Car

Wolbert Venner, employed in J. A. Henry's home on South Eastern avenue, was injured last night when alighting from a Brooklyn car in front of the Henry residence at about 10 o'clock. She was badly bruised and placed in the house in a dazed state after the car reportedly started moving before she stepped down.

Swindler F. M. Stone Nabbed For Bogus Checks In Elgin

Book agent and fraudster F. M. Stone was arrested after trying to pass counterfeit checks at downtown stores. Detectives Connors and Murphy held him as officers pursued the scam with help from Elgin banking officials. A bogus check drawn on First National Bank of Hilgin and other fake names surfaced during the arrest. Stone claimed ties to Towne block Elgin but no such records exist. Authorities continue probing Stone’s past.

Youth Taken After Escapes From Reformatories

George Bencho a youth from Chase Avenue who has repeatedly escaped from Glenwood and St Charles reformatories was recaptured yesterday afternoon by Deputy Sheriff Danti and returned to Glenwood today. He is described as rover like and not dangerously criminal but beyond parental control.
