Deneen Fires Up Voters With Five Speeches in Four Hours

Gov Charles Deneen crisscrossed Joliet Lockport New Lenox Frankfort Crete and Steger delivering five speeches in four hours. He and his party averaged about thirty miles per hour and drew large crowds in each stop. The tour illustrated strong local support for Deneen and for Congressman Snapp ahead of the August primaries.

James Bannon assistant city engineer and a candidate for county surveyor on the Democratic ticket has withdrawn. The first withdrawal day passed with Bannon and Dr Brennan of Manhattan as the only declared dropouts among county offices. One vote at the primaries could fill the vacancies.

Col J Hamilton Lewis Visits City For Democratic Hopes

Col J Hamilton Lewis of Chicago known for his whiskers and gubernatorial ambitions on the Democratic ticket spent the day in the city.
