Power Boat Swept Over Dam During Illinois River Trip

C H Wilson and his son Clifford of Chicago narrowly escaped drowning after a gasoline launch and a house boat were swept over the Jackson Street dam in the Sanitary District channel. Rescued by lock-tender Joseph Ebner and nearby residents, the pair continued toward the Illinois River with their damaged craft after a dramatic incident that left the launch wrecked and the house boat grounded.
