Republicans Gather for Swedish-American League Convention in Aurora

Preparations for the Swedish-American Republican league of Illinois convention in Aurora are underway with plans calling for an 11 a.m. start on March 9 at the state armory on Fox Street. A banquet for 800 at the Coliseum is scheduled for 7 p.m., tickets set at 2.50. committees have been named in Geneva and Aurora for decoration reception convention finance and program. Delegates from across the state are expected, with national speakers and strong organization activity noted.

Curious coincidence in Joliet deaths at St Josephs

A curious coincidence followed the deaths of Michael Mack and B Koleric both elderly dependents of Joliet who passed away on the same day and lay side by side in St Josephs hospital. Supervisor John R Herath has many patients in the hospital and struggles with limited charity bureau staff while caring for ten patients.

City Clerk Berscheid Honored by Municipal League

City Clerk Matt Berscheid has been named to the League of American Municipalities advisory committee on uniformity of municipal reports. Hugo S. Gresser of Chicago notified him of the selection, with a meeting planned soon. The league aims to standardize reports to allow fair comparisons between cities.
