Fatal Ore Pile Collapse Claims Laborer at Illinois Steel
Daniel Tomach a 27 year old laborer was killed at 11 20 PM when ore piles at No 3 blast furnace collapsed at the Illinois Steel Company burying him under three feet of ore. Andrew Pinger witnessed the accident and aid was rendered but Tomach died at the scene. The inquest was held next morning.
