Dedication of Sons of Israel Synagogue in Joliet
The Sons of Israel congregation in Joliet celebrated the dedication of a new synagogue at 107 North Joliet Street. Max Goldberg financed and built the hall in the Houck & Brown block, with Rabbi H. S. Album present from Chicago. A banquet followed, services continue weekly, and Goldberg has donated two acres behind Zarley cemetery for a future burial ground.

Sunday Star Goes Under After Mortgage Foreclosure

Creditors hold the plant as Erhard foreclosed on Bowen and partners, with Bowen blaming a poor year and weak ad sales for the collapse. Bowen vows to repay all debts, though a new venture seems unlikely.

William Campbell Injured in Clinton Street Switching
William Campbell a known E., J., and E. switchman had his foot crushed Friday afternoon at Clinton street crossing while attempting a coupling. He was taken to Silver Cross hospital and is said to be improving. Doctors hope to save the foot, though a long recovery lies ahead.
