Mrs Minnie Tupper Hay wife of Lieutenant Alexander B. Hay died at 7 o clock this morning at 2 North Ottawa street Joliet aged 29 born in Iowa September 1871 moved to Joliet at nine married September 1893 and had a daughter now six years old. She had tuberculosis for months and died peacefully after a painful illness. Besides her husband and daughter she is survived by a brother Frank Tupper of Joliet. Funeral notice to follow.

Prominent real estate dealer J. F. Ingalls plans a westward sale of Chicago holdings to Cheyenne Omaha and California ranches and a return to Joliet to settle at the Higinbotham homestead. He hints at shifting focus to Sunnyside with park and racecourse improvements as a Chicago track seeks association admission.
A Joliet delegation telegram from Charleston reports arrival in good shape with the convention set to convene at 9 o'clock. James G. Heggie signs the message, noting all as well and the mood as hopeful.

Lindgren Recorder George Epb Treasurer Charles O. Hagsey Prelate John J. Foster Marshal Frank O. Wood Trustee F. H. Keith John J. Hinger A. B. Patterson. Installation set for the second Wednesday of January. Visitors from Joliet Nos. 1 and 3 and Lockport No. 9 attended. Three new members elected. more to be voted in at next meeting.
Thomas Beardsley was arrested last night for vagrancy and jailed ten days. Beverly Gilbert, a colored man, admitted vagrancy and was jailed ten days. James Bailey paid a five dollar and twenty six cent fine for disorderly conduct.

Will county officials back a plan to use state convicts to build hard roads by distributing stone from the drainage canal. The bill would transfer ownership of excavation stone to the state and allow districts to pay per yard for road construction, with convict gangs deployed by the state for designated miles. ALF Sehoch and other drainage commissioners lead the push ahead of the next legislature.
Joliet Commandery No 4 E T held its annual officer election. Installation is scheduled for Monday with a joint ceremony and banquet tied to the Noble Masonic Relief Association annual meeting. Officers elected include Werner, Hays, Bowen, Perry, Haven, Bissel, Talcott, Fithian, Dublie, Starr, Butler, Williamson, Carlson, Mateer and trustees Werner, Hays, Bowen, Perry and Haven.
