A plan to form a state electric rail authority is outlined with a call for a statewide gathering to discuss the issue. The date and exact venue are to be designated, with preparations underway for the forthcoming event.
Representatives of Illinois electric railway companies plan a Joliet gathering to call for a statewide conference. The aim is to reestablish mileage interchange and unite about fifty companies under a common program to boost interurban travel and coordinate leaders across the industry. Local interest centers on H A Fisher and the J S Company with hopes the state meeting may be held in this city.
Four year old Elizabeth Muchte died at St Josephs hospital after hours of agony. She became unconscious around 2:20 PM and expired at 4 PM as bells rang in St Johns church. The girl, formerly an artist, had been in poor health and had been doing light work.

John Evans a veteran iron worker and longtime Phoenix Horseshoe Works employee died last night at 9 40 at his North Clement street home. Born in Wales August 17 1842 he immigrated to America about 43 years ago and moved to Joliet 17 years ago to help found the Phoenix Horseshoe Works. He leaves a large family and funeral plans are incomplete awaiting absent relatives. Services will be held Friday with time yet to be announced.
