Governor Yates Urges Illinois Aid for Boer Camps

Governor Richard Yates issues a proclamation urging Illinois citizens to donate money meds food and clothing for noncombatant Boer women and children in South African concentration camps. A committee including Edward F Dunne Carter Harrison and Peter Van Vlissingen will collect funds at the Corn Exchange Bank Chicago and a Boer Rescue League meeting is planned in Chicago with W Bourke Cochran as speaker.
