Fire on Van Buren street at the Adam building and Brush Printing Co. caused about a thousand dollars in damage. Investigators and fire officials voice incen diary theories while insurers cancel policies on affected properties amid the ongoing mysterious blazes.

Dellwood Police Order Blondes Trim to Stop Amusement Park Calls

Dellwood police ordered a pair of blond maids to quit their street calling at the amusement park as they depart Joliet for new venues. The duo, nicknamed the paroxide pair, faced police warnings on several nights and were seen with a noted local figure near the park. Officers warned they would be taken into custody if seen again, and Aurora authorities were alerted to expect similar trouble.

Warrants Issued for Pirg Brothers in Rockdale Attack

Warrants issued by police court for Valentine and Joe Pire in Rockdale after an assault on John Zubanic. A friend of the injured man swore out two warrants per man for assault and battery and for assault with a deadly weapon. Valentine Pire was not at home and remains at large with his bondsman worried about his disappearance.

The Woman's Relief Corps held its regular birthday party yesterday afternoon in Lower Castle hall with good attendance and a social hour. Ice cream and cake were served during the event.

Explosion and Fire Endanger Joyce Couple on Ezell Farm

A gasoline pan explosion in a closed room on Louis H. Ezell farm near Wilmington injures Mrs Joyc e and Thomas Joyce. Mrs Joyce dies soon after, Mr Joyce in critical condition. Neighbor John O Connor rescues them, saving their lives before physicians arrive. The event prompts a county Republican meeting and delegates to a state convention.

Robbers Smash Gambling Machine in Lemont Saloon

In Lemont on August 19 robbers broke into the Marble City saloon at 3 am and smashed a slot machine, netting about $4. They attempted a second break but fled as bartender Frank Sigman slept upstairs and witnessed the escape. Two local men are suspected. proprietor John New was away. An attempted second robbery near Malm street failed.
