Man with strong accent feeds hungry in Detroit on Christmas Day
In Detroit on Christmas Eve a man named J S Groening, claiming Jewish faith, learned his family was safe after a telegram. He invited a dozen hungry men to dine in a hotel private room, providing the best meals as a gesture of happiness and aid. He hoped to ease fears about Russia and Jewish passports.
