Legal Opinions on Weapons, Associations and Telegraphed Losses
A West Virginia case holds carrying a revolver to be repaired by another person violates the statute though the weapon was inoperative. A voluntary association’s majority rule depends on its contract. funds diverted require consent of all members. Telegrams impose liability for transmission and delivery. lost property rules limit larceny findings to actual appropriation with owner efforts. Innkeepers’ liability for guest property losses hinges on negligence and unavoidable fires beyond control.
