Latin American Reactions to Venezuelan Crisis Split Across Nations

In February dispatches from South American capitals reveal mixed stances on Venezuela. Peru favors collective action but will not act. Bolivia leans to no steps yet supports joint action. Salvador urges support while government hesitates. Ecuador protests German actions, Chile abstains and urges debt repayment, while Argentina denies intervention claims. Brazil is indifferent. Colombia backs Venezuela against foreign powers. Nicaragua’s reply was not yet released. The Monroe Doctrine is seen by many as timely but contested. U.S. intercession is debated.
