California limited collides with freight train near Cosmo
ELGSTAFF ARIZ Aug 19 The California limited on the Santa Fe road eastbound ran into the rear end of a eastbound freight train at Cosmo ten miles east of here. Engineer Williams was badly hurt and the fireman escaped injury. The engine overturned onto its side and the front trucks of the combination car left the track. Four freight cars and the caboose were derailed. Some passengers were injured but no damage to the coaches.
