Second Annual Report of Supt Campbell Wind River School
W P Campbell submits the second annual report for the Wind River Boarding School Shoshone Agency Wyoming. Enrollment 204 with 114 boys and 90 girls average daily attendance 174. Measles epidemic reduced attendance. several pupils died at home after withdrawal. School work progressed with half day schooling and trades, but winter hampered instruction in industries. Farm of 600 acres produced oats barley stored hay and vegetables to meet needs. Arbor Day planted 250 shade trees. dormitory expanded with kitchen addition. barn granary and coal house built. Water, lighting, and laundry needs cited. electric light urged. ventilation improved. Staff largely retained. one manager left. Community entertainments held. praise for Capt. Ryu Wilson and Indigenous community support.
