A lengthy notice weighs heritage fever around George Washington and Sulgrave manor. It traces lineage from Sulgrave to Washingtons in Virginia, noting the manor’s 16th century hall, heraldic carvings, and genealogical work by Col. Samuel Chester. The piece contrasts American fame with the modest English estate and bluntly questions the plausibility of a staged transfer for a world fair exhibit.
