Smallpox Delays Justice in Indian Territory Courts
Pliny L. Soper, U S district attorney for the Northern district of the Indian Territory, said smallpox clogs court business. He noted two carloads of prisoners awaiting transfer to Leavenworth as southern districts halt courts, plus 286 criminal cases on the calendar. He warned land allotment delays will push settlement 10 to 15 years, while the St Louis Oklahoma and Southern railroad will open new trade territory via Sapulpa to Texas.

Will Ask For Relief From Interior Department
A contractor for the Frisco Sa pulpa extension, B F Johnson, met Inspector J George Wright in Muskogee to discuss timber and stone along the route for railroad construction. The inspector doubts modification is possible, but Johnson plans to seek relief via congressional action. A detailed railway ad promotes routes, sleepers, and services of the Burlington Route, urging readers to contact officials in St Louis and Kansas City.
