Students Head Off To Colleges In Early Week Moves

Miss Neilie Reeder left Saturday for Bradford Academy in Bradford Massachusetts. Miss Mildred Pestana departed Monday for Washburn University in Topeka for the coming year. Susie Shaffer Henrietta Oshant and Clarence Loreditsch left Wednesday for Kansas University in Lawrence. Joe Irwin went to Salina for a Salina Wesleyan course. Lucy Snyder and mother enrolled at K U. Casper Middlekauff re enrolled in prisacy school at K U. Miss Mary Virmond left for K U via Ellsworth for a visit en route.

Harris to Speak on Democrat Day at G. A. R. Hall and Normal

Former U.S. Senator and prospective governor W A Harris will address the political scene today with morning remarks at the G A R hall and an afternoon talk at the Normal Auditorium. Afterward a Democrats versus Republicans football game will be played, with a prediction that Democrats will not finish second.

Public School Reopens With 125 Attendance and Mixed Senior Class

The city public school opened last Monday with about 125 pupils. High School enrolled 23 on opening day. The Junior and Senior classes united into a 12th year group, reducing recitation periods. Staff includes Principal R. T. Madden and Ass’t Principal Anna Hopkins with noted teachers in Grammar, Intermediate, and Primary grades. The building has been repainted and varnished, improving appearance and efficiency.
