Obituaries For Two Local Elders In Topeka
Two long time residents die in Topeka Mrs Sarah Montgomery aged S1 came to Kansas in 1860 and to Hays City in 1872 funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with burial beside her husband Four children thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild mourn her death Mother Mappen died this week funeral in the Catholic church featured a grand flower display burial in the city cemetery She Madden born in Ireland in 1820 aged 56 arrived in America in 1837 traveled to New York City married in 1840 later moving to Missouri and Kansas She is survived by two sons W H of Chicago and Ed of Topeka and several grandchildren and great grandchildren with her two older sons deceased.

Extension of Union Pacific Train Service Notices
Extension of train service on the Union Pacific effective November 11 1906. Trains 109 and 10 will run between Junction City and Ellis instead of Salina and Ellis as before.
