The Ellis County Liberty Loan Committee led by C G Cochran Shaffer and Miss Bess Leahy presided while Mrs W A Lewis chaired events. the county reported a $41,000 loan over quota as a parade of local organizations showcased patriotic displays and businesses closed for the proclamation day.
