De Witte C Nellis Dies Topeka Judge And War Hero
Prominent Topeka figure De Witte C Nellis died this morning at his home on West Fifth Street after a stroke. He was the first district judge in district 17 at Hays City and had been a leading Kansan for years. Survived by a widow, three daughters and several siblings, his death marks a significant loss to Topeka's legal and civic life.
