Fourth of July Festivities Across Town in 1903

The 1903 fourth of July brought a bustling scene with farmers and businesses active, banks and the post office closing briefly, flags adorning the town, and John Adkins and his Chicago orchestra providing music before a grand fireworks show. A picnic drew few due to chores, a ballgame drew a crowd, and ballooning lit the sky while local games and stunts entertained both young and old.
