Born Elizabeth Catlett near Hodgenville Kentucky December 11 1830 she lived a pioneer life in Nebraska and Kansas. She leaves five daughters fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren and was mourned by family including R A Huntley L N Rice Frank Stout M G Kirkman and Annabel Sutton. Funeral January 20 at ten o'clock conducted by Rev. Gerrit Snyder at the home, buried beside her husband in Mount Allen cemetery. She was known for her active generosity and devotion to family.
