The Free Press wishes a Happy New Year as residents share travels and visits. Mrs Fannie Cramer visits Kansas City. Miss Marrie Pelzel and others travel to Russell and Topeka. Haley Telephone Co announces open rate to Ellis line

Haley Telephone Co advertises an open rate of 15 cents to all Ellis users. In Hays, residents and businesses may keep the 10 cent local rate. New ground wires, stronger batteries, and clearer service are added. Rates: 50 cents monthly for residence, 75 cents for business. Installation offered without option.
