High school announces enrollment for seniors on September 1 from 1 30 to 5 00 pm juniors September 2 9 00 am to 12 00 m sophomores September 2 1 30 pm to 5 00 pm and freshmen September 3 9 00 am to 5 00 pm Parents urged to accompany pupils. Teachers meet September 5 at 9 00 am for assignments. Regular classes begin September 6 at 9 00 o'clock. Visitors welcome. Grade books open for inspection. Surprise sendoff for Supt Kent at Fort Hays Experiment Station
Fort Hays Experiment Station employees hosted a farewell for Superintendent H J Kent last Friday. Sixty five people attended with ice cream and cake as Kent spoke of his sixteen months of service, his good relations with staff, and best wishes as he becomes president of New Mexico Agricultural College. Kent and family depart Sunday for Belleville Kansas then to their new home. Dr H B Humphries visited August 20 to study corn root rot and sorghum variants, noting the disease is widespread and causes stalk drying and grain shrivelling.
