Extended weekly outlook with mild, variable temperatures
The forecast calls for Monday night mostly clear with a low around the 50s. Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s and lows near 50. Wednesday and Thursday remain partly cloudy with 40s nights and 70s days. Friday offers more of the same with a 40s low and upper 70s to mid 80s high. Saturday turns mostly clear and warmer with 40s nights and 70s days.
Deaths in Several Kansas Communities Prompt Funeral Notices
Multiple obituaries detail the deaths of Alice M. Gager 92 of Plainville Marion L. Ludlow 91 of Seals Nellie Canfield 96 of Russell Buck Griffin 92 of Wakeeney Leola M. Horner 85 of Wakeeney and Lewis Dee Stockham 66 of Salina. Included are birth and death dates, survivor lists, funeral plans, and memorials to cancer or local institutions.
Ruth Evelyn Ringer dies at 78 in Quinter Kansas
Ruth Evelyn Ringer 78 died September 29 2000 at Hays Medical Center. Born June 4 1922 in Quinter she taught in Quinter schools 1950 1987 and was active in local churches and clubs. Survived by husband Gail two sons Richard and Roger two daughters Roberta Miller and Rebecca Ringer sister Francis Crawford and six grandchildren. Services Monday at Quinter High School gym with two pastors officiating. Burial in Quinter Cemetery. Visitation with the family pending.

Caroline Rupp 92 died September 28 2000 at Terrace Gardens Retirement Center Wichita born March 20 1908 in Munjor to Joseph and Elizabeth Leiker. The Hays Police Department and Community Oriented Policing urge porch light use for safety with odd addresses in the first and third weeks and even addresses in the second and fourth weeks. An All American Breakfast for Visible Impairment benefits runs 7 30 a m to 12 30 p m at 13th and Canterbury with various ticket prices. Community events include a Hays High School powder puff game at 1 p m, a life chain from 1 to 2 p m along the cemetery, volleyball at 3 p m, and the Vietnam Moving Wall memorial at 4 p m at the American Legion Veteran's Park. Five Hays men face Ellis County District Court charges for a summer burglary spree. Michael L. Sanders, 24, and John A. Woodford, 18, are each charged with nine counts tied to robberies at G-Dubs, Augustine’s Pizza, Hall of Style, Ball Park Concessions, Pheasant Run, Oasis Car Wash, and other sites from May to August.
