Hays USD approves multiple contracts and hires at board meeting

The Hays USD School Board accepted an Insurance Planning bid raising premiums 22.4 percent to 150 012, approved a concurrent credit agreement with Fort Hays State University and a district college pact, heard about a technology grant, and named Will Roth head Start agent and Diane Leiker FOI officer. They noted two outgoing members Carlyle Thompson and Bill Bannister after eight years each and accepted resignations from multiple staff, while approving several transfers and provisional hires across schools.

Hill City Rodeo seeks princess and queen contenders

Hill City invites single girls ages 10 to 16 and 16 to 23 to compete for its rodeo princess and queen at the Graham County Fair Grounds on July 30. Contest includes horsemanship, interview, and written test starting 6 a.m.. parade will precede the rodeo.
