Fort Hays State University sees STARBASE program results in Kansas with partner districts, mentor involvement, and student engagement indicators planned to boost STEM pathways across the state.
Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course hosts the CASA benefit golf scramble at 8:30 a.m. with $76 per person or $300 per team. Entry includes 18 holes, golf cart, lunch and a T shirt. Fort Hays also hosts an 4 to 8 p.m. open house with free admission.
The basic speed rule requires driving at a safe and prudent speed for conditions. In Hays main streets and school zones have 20 mph limits, downtown 20 mph, other city streets 30 mph, US 183 in town 35 mph, and state limits of 70 mph on certain highways. Several dogs surrendered in Kansas include a female black and white pitbull weighing 400 units, a male black Newfoundland at 400, a black and brown Yorkie, and a white and cream Chinese crested mix. A brown and black Pomeranian is also listed among the pets.
Hays Police Department asks for help locating a brown and black chihuahua mix female and a gray stripe female cat reported near 1000 West 38th. Also missing are four kittens in the same vicinity. Call 625-1030 for information.
Motorcycle event titled Legacy of the Hays Larks promotes a four party poker run sponsored by local Harley dealer Doarfers with a final Larks versus Joplin Slashers baseball game. Registration from 2 p.m. at 1100 E 43rd, fees 15 for one rider, 20 for rider and passenger, 25 for two riders. Ride departs 2 30 from Doeffler’s, with stops Plainville Russell Victoria Ellis ending at Larks Park Fourth and Oak for poker hands, barbecue and prizes.
