Fifth graders explore Fort Hays history camp
About 20 fifth graders from Hays area attended Young Troopers camp at Historic Fort Hays to learn soldier life. They sewed gingham pockets and flaps to make soldier's housewives while gaining first hand camping experience and fort lore. Lincoln School student Erica Staab joined after hearing of the camp in fourth grade.
