A Kansas task force examining concurrent enrollment finds some instructors unqualified and some students not suited for college level work. It suggests a GPA minimum of 2.5 and stricter instructor qualifications, while allowing departments to set standards. The panel warns tighter rules could affect budgets and access, and plans to report to the Board of Regents.

The Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging and the Kansas Department on Aging sponsor a three day training for people who want to become volunteer health insurance counselors. The session runs July 6 7 and 8 at the Country Kitchen Convention Center starting at 8 45 a.m. Topics include Medicare claims enrollment prescription coverage supplement insurance and long term care insurance. SHICK staff will conduct the training for volunteers serving older Kansans.
