Weekend Weather Outlook With Thunderstorm Chance

Extended outlook shows Sunday night mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms and lows in the upper 50s. Monday brings partly cloudy skies, a chance of thunderstorms at night, and highs in the lower 80s.

McPherson youths flee Colorado wildfires near camp

McPherson junior high youths from the Church of the Brethren evacuated Camp Colorado near Pike National Forest as wildfires approached. Campers and six counselors were ordered to leave after 30 minutes, relocating to Littleton and later canceling next week’s Pre-J camp. Camp luggage remains behind. leaders plan return if containment allows. A Hutchinson Boy Scout Troop 1 also sheltered at Camp Alexander, ready to assist firefighters if needed.
