Extended Weather Outlook For Thursday Through Friday

A extended outlook shows Thursday with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and highs in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Thursday night also features a 60 percent chance of showers and storms with lows in the low 50s. Friday remains mostly cloudy with a 20 percent thunderstorm chance and highs in the mid 70s.

Report criticizes treatment of Sept 11 detainees

An inspector general report faulted the FBI for delays in determining terrorism links for hundreds held after Sept. 11. Detainees faced 23 hour lockdowns, bright lights, and limited lawyer access, with some in a nine story Brooklyn prison. The document notes 762 detainees, only Moussaoui charged, and about 505 deported, amid calls for reforms.

Court weighs if abuse victims can violate their own protection order

Betty Lucas invited her ex husband to a birthday party while an order barred contact. Both faced charges for violating the order, a case now before Ohio Supreme Court to decide if protectees can be charged for inviting abusers. Decision pending this summer on conflicting lower court rulings.
