Radio linked light bulb could last twenty years
The Edison Electric Institute announces a bulb that works by radio signals and lasts up to 20 years, uses a quarter of the energy of standard bulbs, and may cost 10 to 20 dollars. Intersource Technologies and American Electric Power back the project, with release planned for 1993 in stores and offices.

Greenland expedition uncovers WWII fighter under ice
A 4 foot diameter steam probe reached a twin engine P-38 buried 257 feet beneath Greenland’s icecap. Oil melted from the crankcase signals proximity to an engine as team members plan to enlarge a cavern and recover the aircraft, part of a mission begun in 1981 to raise all seven remaining planes from the 1942 crash that stranded 25 crew.
