Very cold extended outlook with scattered snow chances
The forecast calls for very cold conditions Wednesday with a chance of snow. Lows range from zero to 10 above and highs from 15 to 25. Thursday remains cold with a snow chance in the northwest and dry elsewhere, lows zero to 10 above, highs in the upper teens to 20s. Friday eases, no precipitation expected, lows 5 to 15 north and 15 to 20 south, with highs from the 30s to 40s in the south and west and around 30 northeast.
Hays High School Winter Concert at Beach Schmidt Center
The Hays High School music department invites all to a 7 30 p m winter concert on Tuesday December 19 at the Beach Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the Fort Hays Campus. Performers include concert band jazz band chorale string orchestra and more. Admission is a canned food item collected by the department for the community assistance center in Hays.

Dodge and Ford join DaimlerChrysler and Farm Bureau to support National FFA scholarships. About 2 million dollars in National FFA awards this year plus 405 Ford Truck scholarships for 2001 02. Ford offers a Super Duty F 250 to a local FFA chapter as incentive.

The Hays High School Band collects Pepsi and Frito Lay points branded Share the Joy of Music to earn money for new band equipment. The group asks the Hays community to save points from participating products and contribute to the cause.
