The Hays Police Department reported thefts in the 1000 block East Eighth and 1100 block Canter, a vehicle crash on West Seventh, disturbances on Centennial Boulevard, Walnut, Elm and Golf Course Road, plus trash dumping on Elm. Several arrests followed on December 1 and 2 for drug possession, paraphernalia, DUI, and related offenses, involving multiple Hays and out-of-town suspects.
FrostFest 2011 winners were named by the Downtown Hays Development Corp and FrostFest Parade Committee. Business winners were Double Z s ATVs and Trailers Z Man s Upholstery first, Nex Tech second, The Mall third. School winner North Central Kansas Technical College. Other category winners were Hays Public Library first and Good Hope 4 H second. Best of Show went to Hays Public Library. People's Choice honored North Kansas Technical College with second and Hays Public Library and Double Z s ATVs and Trailers in third.
