Kansas Agritourism Tax Credits Retain Five Years
Kansas owners of agri tourism operations face year end cutoff to receive five years of income tax credits. Beginning January 1 eligibility shortens to four remaining years for those in business before December 31, 2004. The Agritourism Promotion Act, approved in 2004 and signed by Governor Kathleen Sebelius, creates a registration system via KDOC to promote agritourism, limit liability, and provide tax credits to offset insurance costs. New and existing operations must register with EDOC for eligibility, following the first statewide agritourism conference attended by nearly 400 participants.
