Across Kansas expect a cloudy Sunday with a 20 percent chance of snow and highs in the lower 30s. Sunday night remains mostly cloudy with another 20 percent snow chance and lows near 20. Monday brings partly cloudy skies, with lows in the lower 20s and highs around 50.
A sprawling schedule lists drive through light displays, living nativity scenes, and music at venues near Hays from 6 to 10 p.m. with proceeds benefiting charities. Highlights include madrigal dinner at Fort Hays State University, Christmas Past Historic Fort Hays events, and multiple community concerts and crafts fairs across Ellis County. Community bulletin notes Applebee's in Hays hosts Make A Wish Foundation Breakfast with Santa from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Tickets cost $3 with door prizes and goody bags. Kansas chapter has served over 555 wishes since 1984 and offers a statewide reach. For details call Wish numbers. Various vendors and attractions listed also appear on the bulletin board.
Nine vendors sign up to sell food beverages and crafts at Hays Frost Fest 2002 Sunday afternoon and evening with booths opening by 3 pm and staying open after the tree lighting following the parade. Sabrina William of the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce notes some booths may open earlier. Vendors include Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas with handcrafted items and Mister G's offering hamburgers.
The Tea Rose Inn will host its fourth annual Christmas Tea with an artist crafted edible rendition of the Hays Public Library facade. The open house at 117 W. 13th runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
