Town officials step to Chicago with E M Haines and legal advisers to examine a township tax plan. They endorse spreading the tax across the township including cities, proposing two methods to raise funds for roads and bridges, and refer the dispute to Judge Goodspeed.
The New Lenox Grange No. 822 passes a tribute of respect noting the sudden death of sister Mrs. Jerome Doxtader. It resolves to emulate her virtues, expresses sympathy to family, and vows to honor her memory by devotion to their order. Copies go to the family and local papers. Committee members listed.
