Lewiston Cubs Rally in North Idaho League Action

Lewiston posted a 6 to 2 win over Grangeville in a rain affected North Idaho League game. Key players included McCabe, Dorsett and Pounds for Lewiston while Fox and Branscombe starred for Grangeville. Protests from recent games were settled by directors with decisions favoring Grangeville and Cottonwood respectively.

Grangeville Horse Show Boosts Grangeville May 30 31

Lewiston and vicinity prepare for the Grangeville horse show to be held May 30 and 31 with large plans. F A Tamblyn travels to Nez Perce and Idaho counties to promote the event and expects high quality stock from Nez Perce, Kooskia, Vollmer and Idaho County. Special trains from Lewiston to Grangeville, a parade led by the Commercial Club, and prize money over seven hundred dollars are planned with many horses, draft teams, saddle animals and five legged colts exhibited.

TIES FOR HIGH LINE CONTRACT LET FOR CAMAS PRAIRIE

John R. Adkison ofWest of town contracted 60000 ties to Mulledy Co for the Camas Prairie line. The project aims to improve the roadbed this season as promised. Adkison sold timber on his land worth about 3000 dollars and will not work the ties himself while contractors employ workers now cutting ties and plan to widen the crew.

Vollmer District Divided In School Vote

The Ho Vollmer district approved dividing the school district by a 264 to 6 ballot, about 70 percent participation. A bond election for a new two town school building will follow after new trustees are appointed, aiming to ease years of intertown contention.

Boosting the Horse Show by Nez Perce Leaders

F A Tamblyn landlord of the imperial hotel Joe Wade of the Lewiston Tribune staff and Ben Bunnell visited the office yesterday to promote a local horse show. They praised Nez Perce and the Perry E Miller hardware stem stock as the finest seen.

Ladies Rest Room Secured For Draper Club

The Draper Club rents the old McDonald confectionery building on Main Street opposite Graham furniture store to create a ladies and children rest room for country visitors. North and South Wagon Road plan eyed by highway board

Secretary of State W L Gifford and State Engineer King with Theodore Turner return to Boise after inspecting the north south wagon road proposal and related routes. The state highway commission plans a Lewiston overland approach in June to connect north and south routes across Idaho and link to Washington and Montana systems. The board will consider the Idaho connecting link north of Lewiston and the Craig mountain to Whitebird segment as part of the project rollout.

Decoration Day Observance Parade To Cemetery

Old veterans schoolchildren and citizens join a Decoration Day parade led by Poet Commander C F Brown Hancock Post No 28. Civil War and Spanish War veterans, fraternal orders, Commercial Club, and students march from Mary Street to the cemetery to decorate graves, then return to the I O O F opera house for an address by M Reese Lattabaugh and a program. Guests may meet a special train at 11 16.

Panama Exposits Plans Discussed At Commercial Club Luncheon

At the Wednesday Commercial Club luncheon interest grew in Panama-Pacific exposition exhibits for 1915 in San Francisco. A committee led by Mayor J. Frank Sims was formed to coordinate mining and agricultural displays with members L. M. Harris A. Parker Martin Wagner A Tamblyn and EB M Griffith. Central Idaho miners and prospectors are urged to preserve top ore samples for shipment and proper classification and preservation in time for the event.

Shoshone Couple Visits City as Mrs McFall Returns

McFall of Shoshone Idaho arrives with his wife Mrs McFall for a shore visit. The pair, in Idaho for the recent family health crisis, plan to return home to their Shoshone shrine residence after the visit.
