Death of Dr. W. F. Pogue At Pogue Ranch Near Lucile

Dr. W F Pogue former deputy state veterinarian died after a brief illness at the Pogue ranch on the Salmon river road near Lucile. Authorities reported possible poisoning with plans to bring the body to Grangeville. A man named Arthur was arrested on related charges while a search found distilling apparatus. The funeral was held at the Pogue ranch and attended by many locals honoring a respected physician and Knight of Pythias member.

Judge Vineyard Memorial Tributes Read In District Court

Saturday in district court the Wallace N. Seales committee presented resolutions on the death of Judge Vineyard. Tributes from Judge Sentes and attorneys A. B. Hardy Frank G. Fore ALM Roose Hattabaugh and Miles S Fobuson recalled his old school law methods and Irish principles as foundations of his arguments and jurisprudence.

100th Anniversary of Ald Fellowship Observed by Aneat Lodge

The Aneat lodge marked the founding anniversary with a Satur day event attended by representatives from across the crescent region. Maca Lodge and visitors joined in a celebratory supper and program with a polished, well received tribute and speeches.

Club Hiking to River Trip Noted at Dewey Mine Visit

A group led by Mr Byram toured the Dewey Mine and Electric Light Dam on a Sunday hike along the Clearwater River. Kelley explained mine features during a table of Hake, then the party returned to Lew to depart home. Names include Batty, Lewis, Brown, Stubbe, Baker, Coyne, Powell, Peterson, Cunningham and others.

Quarrel Ends in Death of Rancher Charles White

Charles White a well known rancher was shot and killed Monday by Neal McMeeken. The fatal quarrel arose over delivery of cattle and property. Sheriff Siler and Coveney Macnee pursued the suspect who surrendered Tuesday evening and is in custody awaiting further proceedings. Charles White was about years old and brother of Munie John Bing who formerly lived north of the city.

New Council In City Sworn In And Adjourned

The newly elected mayor Wilbur L. Campbell and council members met at Clerk He Taylor’s office Monday night, were sworn in, and adjourned to Tuesday. A proclamation holiday was observed for Wednesday. Mayor appointed Professor Bo Ronving as city bathmaster at $850 monthly. The council discussed purchasing a street railroad or ferry, with committees reviewing the matter.

Residents of the Cottonwood Highway District will vote on a $000,000 bond Monday to fund the LINK road connecting the North and South state highway corridor to service homes in the Central high water district in Taiwan county. The district seeks $90,000.

Governor Davis Honors City and County With Memorial Commission

Governor Davis appoints Harold Harris to Idaho Memorial Commission to create county memorials for veterans of World War I. The act authorizes a $50,000 state appropriation and $1,000 per county, with local matching funds, to erect memorials in each county and directs standards for design and placement. The commission may set style, allocate detailed specs, and oversee site provision and certification requirements.

The Stocktons Return From Extended Southern Vacation

City to fund band leader salary for Grangeville sergeant
