Norman Cap Stevens, longtime craftsman with a patrol background, builds detailed scale models of clipper ships, battleships and cargo vessels. City Engineering Chief Ted Yeatts cites a heavy workload and ongoing water main and storm drain work as the reasons the 178 700 Venice resurfacing project approved in mid April will not start until August or September. Golf course completes encroachment pullout at Lake Venice

Final revisions on the third nine at Lake Venice Golf Course eliminate an FAA mandated encroachment near airport clear zones. Three new fairways and two new holes were added with a new lake and irrigation. The third nine will reopen mid November after summer closure.
