The Sarasota County Public Hospital Board voted a millage of 0.3 for next year to raise about 157000 toward a tight 1966 67 budget for Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Medicare changes reduce patient care income to 5032380 and bad debts run 2.2 percent.
Four drivers faced charges for traffic violations in recent days in Venice. James Maxwell, 18, 336 Coral St., cited for careless driving. James W. Freeman, 32, 725 Groveland, and James Mitchell Hosom, 17, 316 Field Ave. East, cited for 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. Larry Wayne Delagrance, 20, Sarasota, cited for speeding.
An unidentified couple hosted a beer party by candlelight in a vacant Manasota Beach Road home while the resident was away. A deputy found open doors, empty beer cans, and burned candles in one room after neighbors reported a green pickup truck nearby Sunday evening.

A collision at U S 41 and Colonial Lane Nokomis Sunday evening damaged two cars estimated at 175 each. Patrick G Daspit 24 of Sarasota struck Peter L Zahracka 32 of Palmetto Road Nokomis as Daspit turned left. Daspit cited for failure to yield right of way.
