Venice School Board Endorses Corporal Punishment With Limits
At Tuesday’s meeting the board voted 3-1 to allow corporal punishment as a last resort before suspension, but only with parental consent. Bill Muirhead opposed, labeling staff striking a child improper while Mrs. Huberta Prince praised the policy as sensible. A 3-1 vote adopted grooming guidelines deemed inflexible by Muirhead and sensible by Prince.
